2000 - First female appointed Presiding Elder  in the 6th Episcopal District.
PE Smiley presently serves 41 congregations and 27 pastors in the Augusta GA Annual Conference on the Augusta-Athens District.
1993-2000 - Pastor of Wrens Chapel AME Church, Wrens, GA
First female to be appointed to the Augusta Conference Board of Examiners.
First female to be appointed statistician of the Augusta GA Annual Conference.
First female to be elected Chief Secretary of the Augusta GA Annual Conference.
1988 - 93 - Pastor of St. John (Ailey, GA), Wesley Chapel (Higgston, GA and Wayman Temple (Mt. Vernon, GA) AME Churches.
1985 - First female to be ordained Itinerant Elder in the Augusta GA Annual Conference.
1984 - 88 - Pastor of Lane Chapel (Jenkins County, GA) and St. Luke (Washington County, GA) AME Churches.
1978 - Accepted the call into the Preaching Ministry

Professional Involvement
President of 6th Episcopal District Presiding Elders Council in the Sixth Episcopal District; Member of the Connectional Presiding Elders Council serving on the Finance Committee and as the contact person for Georgia; Member of  the Connectional Council of Clergy serving as Treasurer.
